Description

Short title: Miles v Mawe.

Plaintiff(s): Anne Miles, widow.

Defendant(s): Simon Mawe.

Subject of depositions: Jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Ely (Cambridge), and particularly their right to the goods of felons in the liberty of St Etheldred (Suffolk). Touching the forfeiture of the goods of Thomas Miles, late of Sutton (Suffolk) (plaintiff's husband), executed for murder. [Thomas Wiseman, of Canfold (Essex), esq, Sir Anthony Wingfield, Edmund Pooley, Humfrey Wingfield, Thomas Seckford ( "Her Majesty's ward "), and Robert Miles, of Sutton (Suffolk), are mentioned].

County/place: Suffolk.

Date of commission: 22 June 1602.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 1 September 1602 at Woodbridge.
