Subject of depositions: Sum of £500 owing by John Seymour, of Frampton Cotterill (Gloucestershire), to the now plaintiff for a portion promised in marriage to plaintiff with Elizabeth Seymour, one of the daughters of said John, for the payment of which John became bound in a "statute" of £1,000 upon the forfeiture of which statute John, at the instigation of Henry Lord Seymour made a lease to plaintiff of the demesne lands of Northstoke (Somerset?).
