Description

Short title: Governors v Hanbury.

Plaintiff(s): The Governors, Assistants, and Society of the Mineral and Battery Works.

Defendant(s): Richard Hanbury.

Subject of depositions: "Wier Works" at Tintern (Monmouthshire), established in the year 12 Eliz by John Wheeler, Andrew Palmer, Sir Richard Martin, Anthony Gamadge, Francis Eaton, and Richard Hanbury. Profits of the speculation, and quality of iron supplied (by Richard Hanbury); more particularly touching the quality of "Osmond" or "Osmont" iron supplied.

County/place: Monmouthshire.

Date of commission: 23 November 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 17 January 1597 at Chepstow, certificate dated 20 January 1597.
