Description

Short title: Beckewith v Inglebie.

Plaintiff(s): Katherine Beckewith, widow.

Defendant(s): Sir William Inglebie, Gilbert Dawson, Robert Longe.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Aisemonderbie, and manor of Bondegate, parcel of the Duchy of Lancaster. Thomas Markenfielde, esq, lately attained, some time lord of said manor, a close called Low Inge alias Mankyn Close, whether leased by the mentioned Thomas Markenfielde to Miles Newton, deceased, sometime husband of the plaintiff. Whether formerly (before the attainder) the lands were parcel of the collegiate church of Rippon. The close is said to be copyhold land.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 11 February 1579.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 21 April 1579 at Knaisbrough.
