Appellant: Robert Ware Simpson, Thomas Simpson, Caleb S Jenks, E K Harding and Levi Houghton, all of Bath, USA, and C J Meeker and L W Houghton, both of New Orleans, USA, owners of the ship Carlyle. Respondent: Messrs Blessig, Braun and Co of Liverpool, owners of part of the cargo aboard the Grazia a Dio. Subject: Collision between said vessels on 13 July 1857. Lower Court: High Court of Admiralty of England.
