Description

Notarial attestation of the request made to Pope Alexander VI. by Christopher Urswyk, Dean of York, and John de Gilys, Archdeacon of Gloucester, on behalf of Henry VII., that in accordance with an article in the treaty of Etaples he would excommunicate whichever party should first violate the said treaty; to which the Pope replied that he would wait for a similar request from the French King. St. Peter's at Rome.
