Indenture of Agreement. (1) Sir Thomas Audeley kt., Lord Chancellor of England, Thomas Cromwell, Chief Secretary to King and Master of Rolls, Christofer Hales, King's Attorney General, and Richard Ryche, General Solicitor, by King's express command, and (2) Sir Edward Seymour, Squire of King's Body. Sir Gilbert Taylboys, of Keme, co. Lincs., kt., dec., by Statute Staple, Westminster, 16 November 21 Henry VIII, sold to Seymour certain manors etc. By indenture, 30 November 21 Henry VIII, Seymour cancelled above upon repayment. Seymour indebted to King in £240 for manor of Berkden, co. Hertf., for £256, of which £16 paid to Thomas Cromwell to King's use. Now Seymour makes over above bond to King, and King, by letters patent, the manor to the Lord Chancellor, Seymour and Anne, his wife, Thomas Arundell kt. and Richard Ryche, to use of Seymour and Anne. 4 seals ; signatures : Thomas Audley, kt., Canc., Thomas Cromwell, Cristofer Hales, Richard Ryche.
