South Africa: 'Colony of Natal compiled in the Surveyor General's Office and furnished by P.C. Sutherland, Esq. Survr. Genl [Surveyor General]'. Map shows roads; railways opened, under construction, and proposed; and coal-bearing area in the north of the colony. Incomplete reference table to location of minerals. Scale: 1 inch to about 8.25 geographical miles. Inset: a section along the main road from the Drakensburg at Van Reenen Pass to the sea at Bluff Point, Port Natal. Stanford's Geographical Establishment. [1883]: date added in pencil. There are five versions of the map.
