Description

Correspondence received from Offices (Government Departments and other organisations) on subjects concerning British Guiana. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • Admiralty (oil regulations);
  • Crown Agents (Henry Fernandes, transport of 'coolie' immigrants, railway concession for Lord Glasgow, pension of Sir F M Hodgson, steamers for ferries, salary of J J Nunan, law examination);
  • Emigration Agent (prohibition of indentured labourers, accounts of the agency for the year ended 31 March, Sir Frederick Hodgson's pension, penal liabilities incurred by emigrants, feeling in India as regards emigration, distribution of the work of agencies);
  • Foreign Office (Brazilian boundary, disturbances on the Venezuelan frontier, Venezuelan boundary, railway from Manaos to the frontier, Putamayo, rubber collection in Venezuela, police detachment at Kwipa, Amazon Land and Colonisation Company, boundary between British and Dutch Guiana);
