Major-General John Mordaunt (Harwich, The Hague, Vienna, Kracow, Waldmünchen, Calembach, Ebersfeld, Bamberg, Egra, Pilsen, etc). Mordaunt was commissioned in 1748 to attend an army of 30,000 Russian soldiers in their march from Bilitz (on the frontiers of Upper Silesia) to join with the Allied army in the Low Countries. Thus, Mordaunt's despatches are mainly dated at locations in Germany (peace being concluded before the Russian troops reached their destination).
