Yearly, perpetual charges at the new college of St Mary, Winchester (Hampshire), according to the ordinances of William of Wykeham, former bishop of Winchester, founder, for which the college requests allowance notwithstanding that they have not been allowed by the king's commissioners.
These are generally stipends, liveries and obits relating to the offices and officers, fellows and scholars of the college, including the warden, sub-warden, bowsers, sexton, schoolmaster, usher, but also, specifically, to: the warden of New College, Oxford, at the time of election for the obit of Dr Chaundeler; seventy scholars and sixteen choristers at the obits of Master John Fromund and Master Michael Cleffe; William Fleccher and Nicholas Jakes, clerks; prisoners of the Jayle and Wolsey in alms for the soul of Master Thomas Chaundler; the chantry priest founded by Master John Fromund; the chantry founded in the cathedral church at Salisbury by Master Andrew Hulse; Sir Henry Crosse and his successors perpetually singing in the church of Hamell' (unidentified).
