Documents concerning the dispute as to the right of election of a prior of the cathedral priory of Winchester (Hampshire).
Letters patent of John [de Dureville], prior of the cathedral priory of St Swithun, Winchester, submitting himself and his possessions wholly to the arbitration of W [William] of Southampton, prior provincial of the friars Preachers in England, and Antony Bek, archdeacon of Durham, in order to settle the disputes which have arisen between the convent of the priory and Nicholas of Ely, bishop of Winchester, and particularly between the bishop and Andrew of London, formerly prior of St Swithun's; his submission being superseded if Brother Andrew will make a similar submission.
