Search registers and indexes of the Board of Trade's Official Receivers Branch.

These search registers and indexes comprise a record of all individuals served with petitions for bankruptcy. They cover both the High Court and County Courts and contain summary details of any subsequent proceedings.

The registers contain the following information: name, address and occupation of debtor; court; date of filing of petition and of receiving order; date of first meeting and of public examination; date of order of adjudication and of order annulling adjudication; details of trustee; date of payment and rate of dividend; and details of discharge.

Indexes to the registers are arranged alphabetically by name and chronologically within the first letter of each surname.They give the volume number and folio number of the relevant register. The volume numbers are those in the former reference column of the series list.

The 'distinctive numbers' given in the registers are the case numbers of BT 226 (listed as former references in BT 226 series list).
