Inset, a small map of Arabia. Stanford's Geographical Establishment, 55 Charing Cross, London. There are two MS additions. The first in the upper margin reads 'This map was compiled by Mr Redhouse from the Turkish Official Salrame for the Foreign Office 1878'. The second in the lower margin, reads 'N.B. Mr Redhouse thinks that the adult males should be multiplied by three to obtain the gross population. Some Turkish authorities have even suggested five as a multiplier.
