'River Thames Sheet 2 North Foreland to the Nore': chart showing the coasts of Essex and Kent from Shoeburyness and Sheerness eastward, showing soundings in feet. Scale: [1 inch to about 1,500 yards]. Compass roses. Surveyed by Staff Commander E K Calver, Royal Navy, and assistants, 1862-1863; engraved by Davies and Powell; published at the Admiralty, 31 Marcy 1865; corrected to 1873; minor corrections to June 1882. Coloured MS additions show artillery ranges on the sands off the south-eastern coast of Essex, as defined by Act of Parliament in 1862 and extended in 1882; MS reference note. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel R [?]Crozier, Royal Engineers, Inspector of Works, Royal Arsenal, 2 October 1882.
