Ireland: County Cork: Cork Harbour (Cuan Chorcaí): Haulbowline Island (Inis Sionnach). Three similar maps showing naval property and buildings. Reference tables to accommodation, drainage, paved surfaces, etc. Scale: 1 inch to 50 feet. Compass indicators. (1, 3) Zincographed and printed at the School of Military Engineering, Chatham, under the direction of Lieutenant L Darwin, Royal Engineers; corrected to March 1883. (2) Apparently a later version of the same map, prepared for the Commanding Royal Engineer by Captain H H Massy, March 1895; zincographed and printed at the School of Military Engineering, Chatham, under the direction of Captain E H Hills, Royal Engineers. Items (1-2) lack the colouring specified by one of the reference tables, but item (3) is coloured in MS as prescribed. MS additions to all three items note changes to barrack accommodation, etc: (1) pencilled notes dated 1886; (2) extensive corrections, in coloured ink, to the map and reference tables, dated 5 April 1917; (3) pencilled notes dated August 1893. Item (2) signed by Lieutenant Colonel W Digby, Commanding Royal Engineer, Queenstown District, 30 May 1917, and by others.
