Nova Scotia (now part of Canada): Halifax. Eight sheets of plans and drawings of barracks. (1) Plan, elevation and section of officers' and soldiers' barracks on Saint George's Island. (2) Plan of the lumber yard and adjacent streets showing the sites of Ordnance buildings. (3) Plan and elevation of the garrison clock building. (4) Plans and elevations of the Commissariat offices and stores. (5) Elevations of the South Barracks. (6) Plan and section of the South Barracks. (7) Elevations of various government and barrack buildings shown on item (8). (8) Plan of the North Barracks and adjacent government buildings. Reference tables to items (7-8), detailing accommodation, dimensions and construction. Scale: (1, 5-6) 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]; (2) 1 inch to 40 feet [1:480]; (3) 1 inch to 5 feet [1:60] (4) 1 inch to 25 feet [1:300]; (7-8) 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]. Compass indicator to item (2). Items (1-6) drawn by John G Toler; items (7-8) by Lieutenant H Pooley, Royal Engineers. All items signed by Lieutenant Colonel James R Arnold, Commanding Royal Engineer, 14 October 1823.
