Taken by Order of Commodore Palliser, Governor of Newfoundland, Labradore, & c ...': showing soundings. Reference table to anchorages, rocks, soundings and currents. Oval cartouche containing the title; views of parts of the coast. Scale: 1 inch to about 1 league. Compass indicators and lines. Surveyed and published (by permission of the Admiralty) by James Cook; this edition published by Laurie and Whittle, Fleet Street, 12 May 1794. Insets: charts of Great Jervis harbour, Harbour Breton, Saint Lawrence harbours and Channel-Port-aux-Basques, and a map of Saint-Pierre; compass indicators; Saint-Pierre surveyed by Engineer Fortin, 1763. An extension westward is affixed to the right-hand edge of the map.
