Ionian Islands (now part of Greece): Corfu (Kerkyra): Vidos islet. Two copies of a map: (1) Plan of the Isle of Vido with the Works proposed for its Defence'; (2) 'Plan of the Island of Vido, with the Works projected for its Defence, and showing the Ground as proposed to be brought under Fire'. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 27.5 yards. Item (2) (signed): Lieutenant [Charles Ogle] Streatfield, Royal Engineers, January 1824; [the War Office map docket book (which was the original means of reference to the War Office maps) states that this copy is by S B Howlett, July 1824, but no indication of this remains on the map, which is slightly damaged at the edges]. Item (1) [?copied from item (2)] and signed by Lieutenant Edward Covey, Royal Engineers, June 1828. Various pencilled additions to item (2), including a compass indicator; a note stating that the works were ordered to be executed by the Quartermaster General, 15 February 1825; and a reference table to armaments, dated 21 May 1829.
