Two maps showing place names, defences, and the positions of guard ports and regiments: (1) 'Plan of the Coast of Belle-Isle from near Port de Keral to Port de Vazen Surveyed by Order of Major James Bramham Chief Engineer on the Expedition by Ensign Elias Durnford Engineer'; (2) 'Plan of the Coast of Belle-Isle from near Isle de Poulain's to port de Sonnet ...'. Scale: 1 inch to 200 feet [1:2,400]. Compass indicator. Dimensions: (1) 92 cm x 192 cm; (2) 94 cm x 203 cm. Belle-Île was occupied by British troops in 1761 and returned to French control in 1763; Major Bramham and Ensign Durnford are known to have been there in 1761.
