Captured ship St Philip of Isle Dieu [Ile D'Yeu] (master James or Jacques Goyby).
History: a French ship (60 tons), bound from Bordeaux to Dublin, laden with wine; taken in 1745 by the privateer Besborough or Bessborough (Luke Mercer commanding).
Manuscript appeal papers: court papers for the appeal; Vol 1, a very large volume (folios 1-1013 including index) of the full transcript of the Irish proceedings [the writing being very large]; Vol 2, a small volume of translations; and other papers.
