Short title: Unknown Causes. Documents exhibited in court.

  • Papers of Sampson Hele of Gnaton and Hallwell [son of Walter Hele] Includes sheriff's expenses c 1620-1627; 2 volumes of leases and rents 1609-1674 & 1680s-1712; Scobbiscombe Farm [parish of Holbeton] account book 1648; hearth tax returns; receipts for tithes; note of baptisms, marriages and burials of Hele family 1667-1712; law suits; marriage settlement of son Mathew Hele nd; deed of uses to property including Gnaton [parish of Newton Ferrers], Hallwell and Battisborough [parish of Holbeton] 1704; papers re search and arrest of Sir Griffin Markham and 2 priests 1603 (c 1603-1712).
  • Papers of Mathew Hele including marriage settlement 1653; will 1679 and miscellaneous receipts (c 1655-1677)
  • Papers of Roger and Edward Hele including extracts from baptismal and burial registers re children of Roger Hele 1704-1708 (1704-1712)
