Order from governor as acting viceroy to hong merchants. Witnesses have stated in the attached depositions (Missing at transfer) that the country vessel Pi-li-tun, remoured to be the ship responsible, has fled. The hong merchants are to require the taipan forthwith to state the vessel's whereabouts and to hand the criminal over. (Dated: 8m 4d).
