Petition from French consul Gernaert to viceroy. A French warship now at Macao has been sent to express the French king's satisfaction at the viceroy's efforts to bring to justice the murderers of the Navigateur's crew and her captain desires to express gratitude at a personal interview, and to desire, jointly with the consul, that port charges on French ships should be the same as those required from English, Dutch and American vessels. (Dated: 10m 18d).
