Order from viceroy to hong merchants. A petition has been received from the merchant Fearon, saying that Bouvet was responsible for originating the quarrel in which Mackenzie was killed by mistake in the Dutch Factory by servants of the Parsee Merwanjee Hormosjee, that Fearon was not implicated and that he wishes protection against Bouvet. Fearon was not concerned in the murder. He is to be told to live and trade peacably in the Factory and not to listen to rumours. (Dated: 9m 16d).
