The viceroy has ordered that as Staunton, in spite of the explanations given continually seeks Ayew's pardon, Ayew relations with Staunton are to be examined; that within three days Staunton is to return to Macao and the hatches are to be opened; that there are to be no more petitions. (Dated: 9m 27d).
