Description

Repatriation of prisoners of war and reparation claims, including:

Reparation Commission, including:

  • Report of sub-committee appointed to consider the organisation of the Reparation Commission.
  • Compensation to be claimed from Germany under Annex 1 of the Peace Treaty.
  • Claims against the Germans in respect of merchant seamen.
  • Query regarding whether a claim for refund of expenditure incurred from the National Relief Fund should be put to the Commission for an ex cathedra ruling.
  • Reparation Conference: meeting at Foreign Office regarding arrangements for dealing with claims against enemy countries.
  • Reparation claims against the German Government: interpretation of articles of Peace Treaty and method of assessing claims.
  • British claims for compensation against German Government: classes of claims most likely to arise.
  • Claims in respect of interned merchant seamen and PoWs: formulation of British claim against German Government.
