1841-1842
These North and South Wales Circuit, South Wales Division judgement rolls relate to criminal trials. They record the plea, verdict and sentence and give the names of jurors.
The books cover only the years 1841 and 1842. They are the precursors of the crown minute books for the division, covering the period 1844-1943.
The Northern circuit uses similar terminology in its records where judgment books are the precursors of the civil minute books; see: ASSI 54 ASSI 55
No judgment rolls or crown minute books are known to survive for the period between 1830, when the circuit was created, and 1841, or for the year 1843.
