Shows buildings (named), footpath and/or bridleway, stone landmark, woods, waterbodies, bridges, named physical features (hills, fells). Turnpike roads distinguished; toll bar. Industrial land-use; mill, mines, quarries (slate, lead). Colouring used. Scale: 1 inch to 4 chains; index map at 1 inch to 30 chains, and enlargement of townships at 1 inch to 3 chains and 1 inch to 1 chain. By D W Rome, Alston. Maps date between 1841 and 1843
