Description

Issue Book of Hutting Materials.

  • 'Hutting Materials Issued' and 'Hutting'.
  • The first part of the book contains a chronological list of stores issued, giving date, corps to which issued and materials issued. It covers the period 30 December 1854 to 31 July 1855. There follows a chronological table of issues covering the period 1 August 1855 to 7 March 1856. This shows materials issued against corps to which issued.
  • The back of the book contains copies of letters relating to the sending of huts and hutting materials, as well as warm clothing, from England. The majority were sent by the Office of Ordnance to Lord Raglan and detail items sent and transports used. The letters, which include one from the 'Crimea Army Fund', cover the period 8 December 1854 to 27 March 1855.
