Administrative / biographical background

The Office of Works and later Ministry of Works under their various names maintained sets of plans and drawings of a variety of buildings and sites that came within their remit, in parallel with their registered files. It is not known exactly when this card index to the plans and drawings was made or which Ministry staff were responsible for it.
