Description

Captured ship: Unity of Delfshaven, otherwise Eendracht, Indraught (master Claus Ariensen Warren [otherwise Claus Adrienss]).

History: a Dutch merchant ship (250 tons), bound from [Delfshaven or Rotterdam on 4/14 March 1671/1672]; taken on [7/17 or 8/18 March 1671/1672] by HMS Guernsey (Charles Montagu commanding)], 'an English man-of-war' [HMS Guernsey (Charles Mountagu commanding)], and brought first into Dover on 8/18 March 1671/1672, the master and crew afterwards escaping ashore at Dover

  • [CP 1]: examination taken at Dover, 30 April 1672, of Gerret Peyters Boet, otherwise Gerret Pyeters Boet [master of the Fortune of Schiedam: see HCA 32/1947/14].
