Captured ship: Seven Stars of London [suspected to be of Amsterdam] (master John Basse of Exmouth)
History: an English merchant ship (130 tons, 4 guns; built in the Dutch Republic, bought at Amsterdam in August 1671, already English-owned, previous master William Dunstun), bound from Virginia and Maryland to Falmouth or London and thence to Amsterdam if there were no war, laden with Maryland and Virginia tobacco; came into Falmouth [under Royal Navy escort] at 6pm on 6/16 August 1672, delivering a packet of letters from Mr Thomas Notley of Maryland to Mr Bryan Rogers of Falmouth, agent; [seized] at Falmouth. (Previously bound from Amsterdam to Maryland via Fayal, the Azores.)
