Folios 237-238: William Wolseley, Tarbert, Ireland. Encloses a letter from Captain Charles Hay and advises he has been stationed at Kilrush. Asks for Lieutenant Edward Moriarty of Derivin, near Listomel, County Kerry to be appointed. Asks for 2 sailing vessels, one to be constantly ready to sail and an advice boat stationed at Carrigaholt. Will send a progress report on the enrolment of men to the service.
Folios 239-240: enclosure with folios 237-238. Letter dated 16 December 1803 by Captain Charles Hay to Captain William Wolseley, Commander of the Sea Fencibles on the River Shannon. Advises he joined the Sea Fencibles at Liverpool on 12 October 1803 from the north of Scotland and has since been ordered to enrol men at Chester and then to move to Dublin, to Tarbert and now to Kilrush. As directed by Admiral Whitsted he asks for arrears of pay.
