Petitions and letters: Three petitions from the prisoner, and her sister Emma Theobald (Tibball), also signed by the prosecutrix, and 12 respectable folk who have known prisoner since her childhood. Grounds for clemency: her difficult family circumstances - having a neglectful mother, she has been sole provider for herself and 6 younger siblings since their father died in 1846. She is contrite and wishes for the chance to prove herself a useful member of society.
