Folios 98-99: Sandford Tatham, Greenock. Encloses the Minutes of the Proceedings of the Lieutenancy of Ayrshire held on 9th and 29th October 1806 to agree the quota of Fishermen and Boatmen who could be impressed into the Navy. Also describes at length which fishermen and boatmen would be exempt and his plans fo introducing similar measures in the other Maritime Counties of West Scotland. Asks for extra money in his accounts for the printing of exemption certificates.

Advising that as he has not received any instructions from the Secretary of State regarding the new Act of Parliament which authorised the Admiralty to demand a quota of men from the Fishermen of the area, he has delayed proceedings to implement such measures.
