Folio 192-193: John Sanders, HMS Junon, Portsmouth Harbour. On the basis of an enclosure, a letter recommending strongly a carpenter he asks that that the carpenter be promoted and transferred to his ship.
Folios 194-195: enclosure with folios 192-193. Letter dated 6 April 1812 by Bertie Cator HMS Acteon, Spithead. The letter says that its bearer is Mr Nicholls a carpenter. He records the excellent character given by his previous commander Viscount Neville which he supports saying Mr Nicholls is long serving, diligent, skilled and well behaved. He does not get drunk. He reports he is ambitious and invented a new design of rudder for the Acteon. He will be sorry to lose him but he deserves promotion.
