Page: 94.
Name: [unspecified] Applegarth.
Occupation: Horse Driver.
Place of accident: Wingate Colliery Branch, County Durham.
Injury: Face slightly cut
Details of accident: As Engine No. 174 was shunting some trucks behind the pit, Applegarth passed with a horse and covered cart. The Guard called to Applegarth but he took no notice and he therefore signalled to the Engine Driver to stop the train: this, however, could not be done in time to prevent the wagons striking the cart which was broken to pieces and the horse slightly injured. The man's face was slightly cut.
