Page: 90.
Name: [unspecified] Abrahams.
Occupation: Passenger.
Place of accident: Darlington, County Durham.
Injury: Undisclosed
Details of accident: The 6:10 PM Passenger train from York to Newcastle came into collision with a train of laden wagons from Rosedale, which, in consequence of the points leading into the Siding into which they were intended to be shunted, not having been properly attended to by the Guard, had run forward on the S & D Main Line and crossed the NE Main Line as the passenger train was coming up. It being dawn at the time and the wagons, having no lights attached, the Signalman on duty at the Crossing did not see the wagons coming towards him until it was too late to prevent a collision.
