Folios 197-198: William Rickets, the Sea Fencibles, Folkestone. Returns the petition [not present], from his enquiries it appears that James Oldfield suffered from a fever in the West Indies and has lost the power of speech. He thinks the captain of HMS Fortunee is probably a better judge of the affair than either himself or the medical men who have signed the certificate.
