Description

Folios: 449v-450. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: Robert, son of Geoffrey de Foterby [Fotherby].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saufleteby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Two tofts and two bovates of land in the vill of Burgo [Burgh] with appurtenances, and with meadow and pasture belonging to them, which Gilbert, son of Robert de Burgo [Burgh], formerly held, with all appurtenances, liberties and free customs and all easements, in ways, paths, meadows, pastures and pasturages, fully and entirely without any reservation. For £10 which Philip gave to Robert. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns of Robert and his heirs freely, quietly, entirely and in inheritance, paying yearly to Robert and his heirs half a mark, namely 40d at Martinmas and 40d at Pentecost, for all secular services and earthly exactions and demands. Saving foreign service pertaining to such land of the same fee.
