Description

Folios: 307v-308. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter D. Grant.

First party: Robert, son of Walter the priest of Manneby [Manby].

Second party: Walter, son of Odo Galle of Salfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Five acres of land in the territory of Salflethby [Saltfleetby], namely two and a half acres of arable land lying between the lands of William son of Maud on the east side and John, his brother on the west side, whose limits abut upon Neudic towards the south and upon the land of Robert Dakolwe towards the north, and two and a half acres of meadow, two of which lie between the lands of John son of Maud on the west side and [the lands] of the sons of Hugh le Neukumen on the east side; and half an acre lies between the lands of William son of Maud on the east side and John, his brother, on the west side. For ten marks to be paid to Walter according to the testament of Peter Galle. To hold to Walter and his heirs or assigns from Robert and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully and in inheritance, paying 10d yearly to Robert and his heirs, namely 2½d at each of the feasts of Christmas, Easter, St Botolph and Michaelmas, for all secular service, demand and custom.
