Description

Folios: 245v-246. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Grant.

First party: Thomas, son of William son of Thomas, late chaplain of Horbling.

Second party: Robert de Horbling, knight, and Isabel, his wife.

Place or subject: 3s of annual rent which Robert de Burton was accustomed to hand over to Thomas, and 12d of annual rent which William son of Alan used to pay to him, and the whole rent and service which the canons of Calceto ought to pay to Thomas for half an acre of land; Joscelin de Calceto for half an acre of land; William, son of Simon the marshal, for half an acre of land; Robert son of Payn for two acres of land; Alan Alsi for one rood of land and one bovate of meadow in Newfrith; John Gousel for one rood of land; Thomas Newcumen for one bovate of meadow in Northerdyche and Smaldeyl; Richard de Trykingh' [Threekingham] for half an acre and one bovate of meadow upon Sutherdyck; William, nephew of the parson for three roods of land and one bovate of meadow in Littelhenger; Robert Combe for half an acre of land of Maud de Stowe for half an acre; Walter the clerk for one rood of land and one bovate of meadow in Newdeyl; John Bareth for one rood of land; Simon de Bulinbrok [Bolingbroke] for half an acre of land; Alan Stel for half an acre of land; William de Doningtona for one rood of land; Maud, wife of Robert, son of the chaplain, for half an acre of land; and Stephen Targe for half an acre of land. To hold to Robert and Isabel and his heirs freely, quietly, well and in peace without all secular service forever.
