Description

Folio: 238v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter A. Grant.

First party: Christiana de Luda [Louth], daughter of William Haket, widow.

Second party: Philip Galle.

Place or subject: The third part of one bovate of land in the territory of Riston [North or South Reston], which William Haket, his uncle, formerly held in inheritance, namely that which Christiana deraigned before the king's itinerant justices at Lincoln, Roger de Turkelby [Thirkleby] and his associates, excepting one acre of land which she previously sold to John Nord of Geyton [Gayton le Marsh], with free entry and exit and all other appurtenances, liberties and easements belonging to that land in fields, meadows, pastures, ways, paths and in all other places within the vill and outside, together with the service and rent of Richard Ruff of Gueyton of 6d a year at the feast of St Botulph without any reservation. To hold of Christiana and her heirs to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly and honourably in right of inheritance, paying yearly to Christiana and her heirs one half penny of silver at the feast of St Botulph for all secular service, exaction, customs and demands.
