Place or subject: The king has granted to Patrick that he might enclose by a ditch and hedge his wood of Howode [How Wood], which is within the metes of the king's forest of Bere and which at the time of the king's predecessors and that of the present king was enclosed as a park, and that he and his heirs might hold forever that wood enclosed and make a park thereof, if they wish, quit from waste and the regard and view of the foresters and verderers and all other the king's ministers of the forest.
