Description

Folios: 124-124v. Northamptonshire. Indenture of grant.

First party: Henry de Lasci [Lacy], earl of Lincoln and constable of Chester.

Second party: John, son of Philip de Davyntre [Daventry].

Place or subject: Five and a half acres with appurtenances lying in the field of Buckeby [Long Buckby] in a place called Grascroft. To hold to John and his heirs of Henry and his heirs freely and quietly, paying yearly to the earl and his heirs one clove at Michaelmas for all services. For this grant John quitclaimed to the earl and his heirs all his right and claim in all lands, pastures and tenements which are covered by the overflowing of the water of the pond of Henry of Buckeby [Long Buckby]. John grants to Henry and his heirs all the tenements he has in the moor of Morcote [Murcott] on the day on which this deed was made, lying between the garden which William de Braytoft formerly held and the end of the vill of Murcott. To hold in severalty to Henry and his heirs forever all the said tenements, etc, with the tenements which Robert le Scot and Beatrice, his wife, held for the term of the life of Beatrice in that moor.
