Copy of a letter from d'Avaux [Jean-Antoine de Mesmes, called d'Avaux (1640-1709)?] to the [French King?] reporting on the progress of negotiations including that: Heinsius and Dijkveldt are reported to have declared to Allied Ministers that they had finally obtained from Callieres [François de Callières, special envoy of France] a precise declaration on the restitution of Strasbourg and Luxembourg without any restrictions; the Swedish King is upset by the apparently more favourable conditions granted to the Prince of Orange and the States General; he questions the good faith of Lilienrodt [Niels, Baron of Lilliënrot, Swedish diplomat] in his communications to the King of Sweden referring to (among other things) to the French King's position on the restitution of Luxembourg and Strasbourg. Discusses candidates for the post of lead mediator.
