Folios 245-246: Philip Gidley King, Sydney, New South Wales. To William Kent, HMS Buffalo. Orders sending Kent and HMS Buffalo to Norfolk Island with stores. He is then to go through Pitts Straits calling in at islands for water and to see if they are suitable for feeding for horses or cattle. If there are cows or horses, he has money to buy them if they are suitable. If you are unable to buy or barter for enough cows or horses on these islands or Prince of Wales island or Penang, he is to go to Calcutta with a letter for Marquis Wellesly and obtain as many cows as the ship can hold as well as other stuff listed. He is to victual for two years and return to New South Wales. List of articles sent for to get from Calcutta including stallions, mares, rice, saltpetre and sugar.
