The National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) serves as the UK's National Technical Authority for physical and personnel protective security. The NPSA provides guidance, training, advice and support for organisations to understand and manage potential threats such as terrorism and espionage. Additionally, it has absorbed the responsibilities of the former Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI).
The NPSA is part of the Security Service (MI5) and works closely with other government departments, the police, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the UK National Authority for Counter Eavesdropping (UK NACE).
