Description

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Morgenster (master Cornelis Groenveld).

History: a Dutch ship, (160 tons, 8 men, formerly the Irish ship Richard and Betty of Dublin, otherwise Providence, taken, condemned and sold by the French in 1779), now bound from Bordeaux to Drontheim [Trondheim], Norway, laden with wine, brandy, vinegar, and cork; taken on 15 June 1780 in latitude 47°10'N, about 10 Dutch miles S of Ushant, by the privateers Grand Trimmer (Henry Smedley commanding) and Alligator (George Craik commanding), and brought into Falmouth.

A large number of papers.
